Linda Smith Obituary

Linda Kay Smith, age 82, passed away November 26, 2025 at Wellsville Retirement Community. Linda will be cremated and buried in the Wellsville Cemetery.

Linda Kay Smith was born January 5, 1943 in Paola, Kansas the daughter of Milford Lawrence and Lucille Bell (Huston) Whitney. She graduated from Fontana, Kansas and later married Paul Richardson. They divorced and she eventually married Alexander "Smitty" Smith. He preceded her in death.

Linda worked as a prison guard in Kansas and South Carolina most of her life. She enjoyed crocheting and bingo and playing cards and going to the casino.

Linda is survived by her son, Jeffery Richardson of Summerville, SC; sister, Brenda Vickers (Jerry) of Ottawa, KS; and brother, Gene R. Whitney of Osawatomie, KS.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Christopher Richardson and her daughter, O'Niska "Nikki" Richardson.
